“Flores en Daraya” quiere dar voz en castellano a escritores, periodistas y blogueros, en su mayor parte sirios y sirias, para extender un entendimiento del conflicto sirio desde las bases del movimiento de la sociedad civil. Nuestro objetivo es hacer llegar a la comunidad hispano-hablante los testimonios y reivindicaciones del pueblo sirio que resiste a las bombas y la opresión y cuya lucha queda a menudo empañada por el enfoque de los medios sobre el terrorismo y la geo-estrategia internacional.
Es un esfuerzo por apoyar y mostrar nuestra solidaridad con los activistas y los movimientos de base dentro de Siria y en la diaspora, por la libertad, dignidad y justicia social, y contra la dictadura, el terrorismo y el absolutismo tanto del régimen de al-Asad como de los actores oportunistas, autoritarios y dogmáticos con su propia agenda sobre el terreno.
ENGLISH
In “Flores en Daraya” we intend to give a voice in Spanish to mostly Syrian writers, journalists, bloggers and human rights defenders, to extend an understanding of the Syrian conflict from the grassroots of the civil society movement. Our goal is to provide Spanish-speaking readers with the testimonies and demands of the Syrian people who resist bombs and oppression, and whose struggle is often tarnished by the media’s approach to terrorism and international geo-strategy.
It is an effort to support and show our solidarity with activists and grassroots movements within Syria and the diaspora, for freedom, dignity and social justice and against dictatorship, terrorism and absolutism of both the Assad regime and the opportunist, authoritarian and dogmatic actors with their own agenda on the ground.
